Author's note

HFF Thai Dye by Have Fun with Fonts is a free experimental display font with extreme stroke contrast and sharply altered letterforms. Tall black uprights meet hairline curves and oversized, looping forms.

Designers working in fashion, music, and alternative culture can draw on its strange elegance for posters, editorial covers, and event graphics with a theatrical or surreal edge. Boutique packaging and identity work are another good fit, since the broken geometry and ornamental curves can turn a brand name into an abstract emblem rather than ordinary lettering on the page.

HFF Thai Dye is based on Siamese, from "Special-Effects and Topical Alphabets: 100 Complete Fonts" by Dan X. Solo, first published by Dover Publications in 1978. Siamese is also featured in "The Solotype Catalog of 4,147 Display Typefaces".
