Author's note

Hinterwelt by Lukas Schiltknecht is a free medieval blackletter font with a wild, hand-cut silhouette and pronounced calligraphic movement across the uneven letter heights. Its narrow strokes snap into long wedges and hooked points.

Medieval fantasy is its clearest setting, especially for role-playing game titles and dark folklore book covers, where the restless forms resemble marks from an old illuminated page rather than polished revival lettering. It also suits album artwork, theatrical posters, and themed event graphics aimed at audiences drawn to occult stories, historical drama, and rough-edged underground culture, since its irregular strokes become part of the setting rather than neutral typography.
