Holbein Childrens by Paulo W of Intellecta Design is a free ornamental initials font built in the manner of old woodcut capitals. Square borders enclose curling leaves and small figures, and rough engraved marks recall the dense texture of an illustrated storybook.
It is most convincing in publishing, where a single initial can open a fairy tale, folklore chapter, or historical essay with period detail already embedded in the type. The same carved imagery suits invitations, heritage packaging, and theatrical posters, and the framed letters can function as miniature illustrations or emblems rather than ordinary text.
