Author's note

Hoodlum Samurai, designed by Patrick Lauke of FontStruct, is a free pixel display font built from broad rectangular strokes. Its squared letters use deep notches and boxy interior spaces that recall maze walls and early arcade graphics. The forms feel mechanical and tightly constructed.

Game graphics are an obvious setting for its chunky grid logic, with music posters, streetwear branding, and event signage offering similarly forceful contexts. The maze-like cuts can echo circuit diagrams, tiled patterns, or block-built illustrations, turning the lettering into part of the surrounding artwork.
