Hooverville by Kevin Christopher of KC Fonts is a free eroded display font with broad, slab-like capitals. Heavy strokes and blunt serifs give the lettering an old industrial signboard shape. The damage is dense and sharply scratched.
That battered look suits roots-music posters and heritage food packaging with a rough period atmosphere. It also fits historical event graphics with archival photographs and weathered textures. In editorial design, it can turn a feature opener into a convincing piece of found signage.
