Author's note

HYPE Bold, designed by Nils Merkel in 2012, is a free condensed sans serif with towering capitals and a stark, poster-like profile. The letters combine long straight strokes with clean circular curves, and their tight proportions produce a dense line without looking heavy or blunt.

Designers working in fashion, nightlife, and contemporary culture will find it suited to event posters, magazine covers, and apparel graphics. Its dramatic height gives editorial layouts a sharp masthead voice, especially for features centered on architecture, music, or urban style.
