I Shot The Serif by Oscar Barda is a free slab-serif display font with a blunt, old-poster swagger. The caps feel oversized and blocky, with wide top bars, heavy feet, and rounded inner spaces that keep the weight from turning stiff, so the overall mood lands somewhere between wood-type bravado and a softened billboard face.
It works naturally on poster titles, record sleeves, brewery branding, storefront signs, and short editorial cover lines, where those thick slabs give a few words real presence. As a free font, it also suits title cards, monograms, and drop-cap moments, especially when you want loud vintage flavor without drifting into ornate western cliches.
