Author's note

Illini Spike by Daniel Heikkinen is a free Western display font with broad, weighty capitals and oversized squared slab serifs. Deep triangular cuts give the dark lettering a carved, hard-edged profile.

Western show-card styling points directly to rodeo posters and country music events, and the squared proportions also suit collegiate sports graphics. Its dense silhouette is equally convincing on printed team merchandise and packaging for rugged food or drink products. For branding, the repeated notches can extend into badges, border patterns, and supporting graphics as part of a coherent product identity.
