Author's note

Initial by Tom Murphy 7 is a free distorted display font with tall, uneven letters and an inked, hand-cut silhouette. Heavy curves, pinched joins, and irregular dots make the forms feel deliberately unstable.

Music and underground publishing are its clearest territory. It suits album covers, gig posters, and magazine mastheads, where the warped shapes can echo rough collage, photocopy texture, or offbeat illustration. These uses all benefit from lettering that feels less typeset than physically assembled.
