Author's note

Izvestija, a free Cyrillic display font by Viktar Autushka, draws on G. Klikushin's design with a severe, poster-like rhythm. The letters look carved from solid blocks, mixing broad vertical weight with sharp inner notches and sweeping curves that give the font a distinctly East European editorial character.

It feels at home in mastheads, cultural posters, book covers, title cards, and short exhibition graphics where that compact, cut-paper texture can do the work. As a free font, Izvestija also suits monograms and brief cover lines, because the heavy silhouettes and abrupt sliced details hold their character even in just a few letters.
