Author's note

Jacoba Bold, a free formal calligraphy font by Christine Mauerkirchner and Rainer Grunert, is shaped by dramatic thick-to-thin strokes and a pronounced forward slant. Sweeping flourishes give the lettering an elegant, theatrical silhouette.

Its long curves can echo ribbon motifs and fine-line illustrations on invitations and event stationery. The same flowing forms suit fashion editorials and cosmetics packaging, especially when the lettering is part of the image. In branding, the ornate script can turn a name into a signature.
