Author's note

Janda Safe and Sound by Kimberly Geswein is a free eroded display font with tall, loosely drawn letters and a dry, scratched surface. Its uneven outlines, changing stroke widths, and slightly awkward joins give the lettering the look of ink worked over by hand.

That scuffed texture can echo photocopied artwork or rough line drawings on gig posters and album packaging. It also suits casual cafe branding and independent magazine covers, where the narrow forms feel direct rather than polished. The distressed marks are especially at home with punk, garage rock, and DIY craft themes.

Updated 4/2013 to fix an error in Janda Safe and Sound Solid that caused the letter e to print awkwardly in some PDF files.
