Author's note

Jap-Karen 1, created by Few Karen of FontStruct, is a free bitmap pixel font with compact, grid-built lettering. Its strokes break into firm square steps, giving curves and diagonals a deliberately digital edge. The overall texture is dense rather than ornamental.

Game interfaces and electronic music graphics benefit from its low-resolution construction, also fitting arcade posters and tech merchandise. Its blocky forms connect especially well with retro gaming audiences and designers drawing on early screen graphics.
