Author's note

JFFerrule font by Jester Font Studio is a free western retro display typeface. Heavy slab letters are carved with looping curls, teardrop flourishes, and scalloped edges that feel like weathered woodcut posters from a frontier carnival. The bold black shapes and fine inner contours create a rich, ornate texture that holds up even at large sizes, giving titles a theatrical, hand-painted presence.

Using JFFerrule, you can give saloon signage, rodeo or country music posters, BBQ or craft beer branding, vintage event flyers, logo wordmarks, and book covers a loud, nostalgic voice. This free font shines when set big and bold; pair it with a plain, condensed sans serif for supporting text so its decorative forms stay legible and do the heavy storytelling.
