Author's note

JJ Stencil Solid font by Harold Lohner is a free eroded stencil display typeface that feels like thick paint pushed through a battered metal mask. The letters are chunky, irregular, and slightly slumped, with rough edges that echo Jasper Johns–style screenprints and weathered military markings. It has a heavy, inky presence that reads loud and raw, even from a distance.

Using JJS tencil Solid, you can give posters, protest graphics, album covers, game titles, streetwear logos, and rugged packaging a bold, stenciled punch without looking too clean or digital. The rhythm of its broken shapes creates a gritty texture that instantly suggests history and impact. This free font works best set large with plenty of breathing room, paired with a simple sans serif for supporting text.
