JLS OverKill Grunge, designed by Mike Adkins and James Stirling, is a free eroded military display font. Its blocky caps use squared forms and deep stencil-like cuts. White chips, scratches, and broken patches run across the heavy black letters.
Poster design is its most convincing use, especially for combat games, action events, and hard-edged music promotions. The damaged texture also suits tactical merchandise and rugged product packaging. In magazine covers and editorial graphics, it can establish a distressed industrial subject before the supporting text begins.
