Author's note
Jope, created by John of Bionictype, is a free distorted cartoon display font with squat, oversized letterforms. The strokes swell and pinch unpredictably, and uneven curves, sharp notches, and tiny interior gaps make the letters look roughly cut by hand.
On packaging and merchandise, its dense silhouette can turn a product name or band name into a compact piece of comic artwork, and the same unruly weight suits music posters and game graphics. Those crooked edges and off-kilter shapes echo hand-cut props and cartoon scenery, which makes the lettering especially apt for playful entertainment and youth-oriented products.
