Author's note

Joyeuse by David F. Nalle of Scriptorium Font Library is a free medieval blackletter font with broad strokes and sharply cut details. Its rolling curves, pointed joins, and pronounced stroke changes give the lettering an active calligraphic flow.

Heraldic illustration and fantasy artwork share its blade-like points and sweeping forms. That connection makes it apt for role-playing game covers, historical event posters, and medieval-themed packaging. It also suits tavern signage. Across these settings, the carved silhouette ties the lettering to swords, shields, and illuminated ornament.
