Author's note

Junicode by Peter S. Baker of Briery Creek Software is a free traditional serif font with a formal, bookish character. Its tall capitals combine broad proportions with pronounced thick-to-thin changes, and the lowercase letters carry long, tapering curves. Fine wedge-shaped serifs and softly modeled strokes keep the design crisp rather than severe.

The look of traditional book typography makes it well suited to historical publishing, literary journals, and museum materials. It also fits scholarly editions and archival exhibits. Its most convincing role is in editorial work that benefits from dignified lettering and a clear link to older printed pages.
