Author's note

Justus Italic, from Justus Erich W., is a free old-style italic serif with the poised, literary feel of classical book typography. The letters lean with a smooth, calligraphic rhythm, pairing fine hairlines and sharper wedges with generous curves that keep the texture graceful rather than stiff.

It fits editorial mastheads, poetry covers, museum posters, invitations, and title cards where a quiet historical voice matters more than blunt impact. As a free font, it also works well for short pull quotes, initials, and packaging names, because the slanted forms and high-contrast strokes give even a few words a cultivated, period-minded tone.
