Author's note

Kaine Block by Jonathan Hill of The Northern Block is a free heavy slab serif with broad proportions and an emphatic poster-like silhouette. Its strokes are nearly monolithic, with squared joins and compact internal spaces that make the lettering feel dense and architectural. Rounded lowercase forms soften the otherwise blunt construction.

Event posters are its strongest setting, especially for music festivals, club promotions, and exhibitions seeking an oversized typographic centerpiece. The same massive shapes suit streetwear branding, record packaging, and magazine covers because each word can function almost like a solid graphic emblem rather than a quiet line of supporting text.
