Author's note

KANEIWA alp font by Akihiro Oya is a free Japanese decorative typeface. Its tall, blade-like strokes and sweeping curves feel like ink brushed with a sharpened calligraphy pen, giving Latin letters a distinctly Eastern rhythm. The forms are narrow, elegant, and a little mysterious, so even a short word carries a strong, cinematic presence.

Using KANEIWA alp, you can bring this drama to game titles, movie posters, album covers, restaurant branding, book jackets, and event flyers. The tight vertical stance helps headlines stack beautifully, especially on narrow layouts and banners. This free font pairs well with a clean geometric sans set small underneath, letting KANEIWA alp handle the bold mood-setting at larger sizes.
