Author's note

Karla Italic by Jonathan Pinhorn is a free humanist sans serif. Its steep forward slant gives the broad capitals momentum across the line, with changing stroke widths, clipped joins, and softer lowercase curves keeping the design crisp, personable, and easy to recognize at a glance.

Designers working in editorial and cultural fields can draw on that brisk character for magazine covers, exhibition posters, arts-event branding, and contemporary publishing aimed at an informal, design-aware audience. Its clearest role is in editorial titling, where the generous proportions and decisive lean can make a feature name or cover line feel active and conversational rather than formal.
