Author's note

Kind Type is a free eroded display font with broad, uneven letters and a strongly handmade surface. Its rough edges, scattered pinholes, and dry scraped patches vary from character to character, so the wear feels physical rather than applied as a uniform filter. The loose proportions and changing stroke widths keep the lettering lively, with an especially forceful silhouette across a line.

Its distressed marks can echo photocopied photographs, torn-paper collage, and screen-printed textures in music posters, magazine covers, and streetwear graphics. On food packaging or festival merchandise, the letters can become part of the artwork itself, acting like hand-inked marks within an illustration rather than neutral type.
