Author's note

Kingthings Facetype, designed by Kevin King of Kingthings, is a free illustrated display font built around theatrical faces. Mask-like portraits occupy the letters, peering through openings or replacing parts of their structure. Sweeping black shapes and sharp curves give the lettering the look of cut paper or an elaborate stage prop.

Packaging can use these expressive figures for cosmetics, novelty gifts, or products with a cabaret theme. The font also suits posters and event graphics, especially when the lettering can function as both title and cast of characters. In publishing, it could turn a cover line into a compact illustration for satire, theater, or fashion editorials.
