Author's note

Kingthings Trypewriter font by Kevin King is a free eroded typewriter serif font. Its letters look like they’ve been hammered out on a temperamental old machine-ink pooling at the edges, edges rough and splintered, spacing just irregular enough to feel human. The result is a crunchy, smudged texture that instantly suggests worn paper, carbon copies, and secret files dragged from a dusty cabinet.

Using Kingthings Trypewriter, you can give instant atmosphere to horror book covers, mystery posters, escape room branding, vintage zines, album artwork, and moody game menus. This free font brings a gritty, analog tension that makes short headlines and quotes feel urgent and a bit unsettling. For a strong hierarchy, pair it with a clean sans serif for body text and keep Kingthings Trypewriter big and bold for titles and key phrases only.
