Koenig-Type Bold by Dieter Steffmann of Typographer Mediengestaltung is a free medieval display font with the broad, rolling silhouette of playful blackletter. Swollen strokes, hooked feet, and uneven curves soften the Gothic structure, so the letters look hand-cut and slightly mischievous.

Its storybook forms suit fantasy, folklore, and tavern themes. It suits game graphics, festival posters, and food packaging with a theatrical or rustic subject. The lettering can turn a brewery name or themed product label into an illustrated emblem.
