Author's note

L.C. Smith 5 typewriter by Georg Sommeregger of yourfonts.com is a free eroded typewriter font with the battered imprint of an overused machine. Its broad serif letters are broken by ragged edges, ink clots, and rough gaps that make every stroke look unevenly struck. The damage is emphatic rather than subtle, with a blunt, physical quality.

Crime-fiction book covers are its clearest home, since the scarred print can suggest case files, old evidence labels, and hurried notes. It also suits horror posters, escape-room graphics, and distressed merchandise, especially in stories built around abandoned offices, corrupted records, or unsettling archival material.
