Le Film Classic, Harold Lohner’s free Art Deco caps display font, revives Marcel Jacno’s 1927 cinema lettering with a stripped, poster-flat presence. The letters are built from heavy rectangular strokes and squared corners, with blunt openings and a rigid rhythm that feels cinematic, architectural, and unmistakably tied to early film graphics.

It works well for movie posters, theater programs, cocktail menus, title cards, and cover lines where a free font can bring that period marquee mood without drifting into ornament. Because the alphabet is so pared back and blocky, it also suits monograms and short headlines, especially when you want a hard-edged Deco note rather than a glamorous script.
