Author's note

LECO1976 by Samuel Carnoky is a free geometric techno display font built from imposing rectangular strokes. Its squared caps use abrupt cut-ins and tight internal gaps, giving the lettering the look of modular architecture or an early electronic control panel with almost no soft curves.

The retro-futurist construction is well suited to science-fiction posters and electronic music packaging, where the letters can become part of the graphic machinery. It can also lend arcade games and technology branding a stark, industrial face. In editorial design, its block forms could shape a forceful magazine opener for features on digital culture, architecture, or experimental music.
