Author's note

LeedsUni, designed by Alec McAllister of the University of Leeds, is a free high-contrast serif font with an elegant, editorial bearing. Fine hairlines meet broad upright strokes, and long flat serifs give the letters a crisp, measured silhouette.

University publishing and fashion branding are very different settings, yet both suit its formal proportions and sharp stroke changes. It also lends a cultured finish to exhibition posters and arts event programs. In institutional identities, the lettering can suggest academic tradition without copying an overtly historical style.
