Author's note

Linux Biolinum O Bold, designed by Philipp H. Poll, is a free serif font with sturdy proportions and an unusually relaxed drawing. Its broad capitals combine softly flared strokes with modest thick-thin changes, giving the face a warmer, less formal look than a conventional book serif. Curves feel slightly uneven and lively, especially where rounded forms meet straighter strokes.

Editorial headlines are its most convincing role. The substantial shapes also suit book covers, exhibition posters, and identity work for museums, independent publishers, and community venues. In a logo or poster, the distinctive capitals can function almost like a hand-cut sign rather than neutral typesetting.
