LM Roman Caps 10, designed by B. Jackowski and J. M. Nowacki of the TeX users groups, is a free high-contrast serif font with the formal bearing of traditional book typography. Broad vertical strokes meet fine hairlines and crisp, bracketed serifs, and the rounded letters have open, carefully drawn curves.
Book covers are its most convincing setting, especially for classical literature, academic editions, or historical publishing. The restrained proportions can also lend museum programs and cultural event posters an established, scholarly voice without appearing overly ornate. Those sharp serifs and dramatic stroke changes echo engraved and early printed lettering, making them relevant to heritage branding as well.
