Author's note

LovesLabour by Pia Frauss is a free medieval blackletter font. Its changing stroke widths, long looping flourishes, and sharp diamond-shaped turns give the letters the look of ornate penwork, yet the silhouettes remain vigorous and irregular.

It can move between Shakespearean theater posters and dark music packaging because the lettering feels both courtly and unruly. Book covers and fantasy game graphics also suit its manuscript character, and the curling strokes can become part of an emblem for a festival, boutique, or dramatic production.
