Author's note

Macumbats is a free cartoon character dingbat font built from hand-drawn figures in fanciful period dress. The small cast has an old-fashioned theatrical air, with lively poses, expressive faces, layered costumes, and props rendered in loose ink outlines.

Designers working in comic fantasy and lighthearted historical settings could use these figures in game manuals, event posters, merchandise, and children's publishing. Rather than behaving as neutral symbols, the characters can become a miniature cast within a scene, border, or illustrated emblem.
