Author's note

Magda by Bartek Nowak is a free hand-drawn serif display font with tall, uneven capitals and a distinctly old-world bearing. Its strokes shift between slender curves and broad, wedge-like forms, with pointed feet and rough edges that recall carved lettering. The silhouette is dramatic and slightly unruly.

A historical fiction cover is its most convincing setting, since the angular shapes suggest folklore, early printing, or an invented kingdom, and the same quality suits fantasy game graphics and theatrical posters. In publishing, the irregular capitals can become part of an illustrated title treatment, echoing woodcut borders, heraldic symbols, or hand-rendered maps rather than acting as neutral text.
