Author's note

Manta Ray by paintblack is a free distorted display font with blunt, oversized letters and an unruly cut-and-paste silhouette. Uneven widths, chipped edges, and scattered flecks make the lettering look battered rather than neatly distressed.

Its rough punk attitude is aimed at music, skate, and streetwear audiences. It suits gig posters and record sleeves, where the broken shapes can echo photocopied artwork. Clothing graphics and festival branding are equally convincing uses for its loud, imperfect forms.
