Author's note

Manticore by David F. Nalle is a free medieval gothic font shaped by tall blackletter strokes, sharp diamond cuts, and hooked turns that give the lettering a tense, upright rhythm. The texture stays dark and ceremonial, but the repeated tapering and angular breaks keep it from feeling blocky or blunt.

That makes Manticore a natural choice for fantasy book covers, Renaissance fair posters, game titles, pub signage, and chapter openers that need a historic edge rather than a generic gothic label. Short headings and logo-style wordmarks benefit most, because the narrow vertical movement and pointed detailing create a formal, manuscript-like presence.
