Author's note

Manuscrit, designed by Steve Cloutier of PYRS Fontlab, is a free eroded display font with tall, forceful capitals. Thick strokes are scraped by dense horizontal cuts and rough white gaps, like ink dragged across coarse paper. Uneven edges keep the broad shapes raw, handmade, visibly rough, and deliberately unruly.

Posters are its clearest home, especially for music and protest graphics. It also suits apparel and packaging, where the streaked letters can merge with photocopied portraits, torn-paper collage, and other weathered imagery.
