Author's note

Map Symbols by MapInfo Corporation is a free cartographic dingbat font built around solid, compact pictograms with squared edges and a practical, no-frills finish, where quick recognition matters more than decorative detail. Its blocky shapes resemble marks cut for a printed map key.

Map keys are its clearest home, though the direct silhouettes also suit public wayfinding signs, transport diagrams, and geography worksheets. In digital mapping or travel graphics, each character can become a location marker or interface icon within mobile tourism guides and navigation panels rather than ordinary text.
