Author's note

Martell Black from Adrian Candela is a free high-contrast serif display font with commanding proportions. Its sturdy slab-like feet and sharp stroke changes give the letters a carved, poster-scale look. Rounded forms stay surprisingly open beside the more rigid capitals.

Historical and editorial themes make it suitable for museum posters, book covers, and cultural event graphics. It also suits heritage packaging and theater programs. In those settings, its monumental letters can function like architectural signage within the artwork.
