Maxxi Serif Bold by Galdino Otten is a free heavy serif display font with broad, assertive forms. Its thick strokes change little in width, and the blunt serifs lock each letter into a dense silhouette. Rounded lowercase shapes keep the weight from looking rigid.

Editorial covers and food packaging can both use its solid, playful construction, whether the subject is loud culture or an indulgent product. It is especially convincing on music posters. Its oversized curves and squared serifs can echo cut-paper illustration on festival merchandise and event graphics.
