Medieval Tiles I, designed by David Nalle in 2003, is a free medieval dingbat font built around tiled ornament and knotwork motifs. The set keeps returning to curved vines, small floral details, and corner-like frames, so it feels like a collection of decorative fragments rather than isolated symbols.
It makes sense for borders, invitation corners, heritage menus, chapter openers, scrapbooks, and poster accents, where its repeating arcs can turn a blank edge into a framed panel. Used sparingly, the ornaments give layouts a medieval note without needing extra illustration.
