Mendam Font

Mendam, a free eroded display font from Wep, has the feel of letters cut from ink-heavy paper and left to wear down at the edges. The forms are chunky and uneven, with rounded bites, holes, and softened gaps that make the word look battered, handmade, and a little playful rather than grim.

That rough texture gives Mendam a natural place in poster headlines, album covers, zine mastheads, title cards, and packaging that wants a scavenged, DIY note. As a free font, it works best in short bursts where those worn openings and lumpy silhouettes can do the talking, especially for bold cover lines or big one-word branding.
