Author's note

Mercenary by Defaulterror is a free futuristic display font with a hard-edged, sci-fi attitude. The letters are built from heavy geometric arcs and blunt cuts, then broken by sharp notches and diagonal slices that make the whole font feel mechanical, coded, and slightly aggressive.

That gives Mercenary a natural place in game logos, tech event posters, album covers, streaming graphics, and title cards where short words need a stark synthetic voice. As a free font, it also suits monograms and headline fragments, because those big curved forms and clipped corners create a bold silhouette even when you use only a few letters.

Mercenary came about while creating the Augment logo. Schmaak it broken!
