Merchant Copy Doublesize font by S. John Ross is a free bitmap font with a pixelated, low-resolution build and rough stepped edges. Its letters keep a handwritten merchant-sign feel, but the forms are simplified into blocky shapes with uneven corners and open, boxy counters.
This free font works well for retro game menus, pixel art posters, zine titles, shop labels, and web graphics that need a deliberate 8-bit edge. The enlarged bitmap structure gives those uses a raw, screen-printed feel that suits display text, price tags, and short promotional callouts.
A dot-matrix font in the style of a point-of-sale reciept, created by commission from original sample-scans in September of 2006. The freeware (non-installable) version is "Merchant Copy," the licensed version is "Customer Copy."
