Author's note

Merchant Copy font by S. John Ross is a free eroded display font with rough, broken edges and uneven vertical strokes that give the letters a worn, hand-cut character. The forms stay tall and narrow, but the damaged outline keeps the whole wordmark looking raw and slightly irregular rather than polished.

Merchant Copy works well for poster titles, game graphics, labels, chapter headings, and distressed branding where a rough printed texture helps the message feel more tactile. This free font also fits album art, packaging, and Halloween or adventure-themed layouts when you want text that reads clearly while still carrying a scratched, weathered edge.
