Author's note

MM Dungeon Inverted, designed by Duane R. Haut II, is a free geometric frame dingbat font built from square enclosures. Its repeated forms have thick, slightly uneven edges and rigid corners.

Dungeon maps are its clearest setting, where the box-like symbols can mark rooms, tiles, or enclosed areas in a game layout. The same severe geometry also suits retro game graphics, maze-themed posters, and fantasy merchandise, especially when the design draws on early screen or bitmap imagery. Rather than acting as ordinary text, these symbols can become the map itself, forming modular walls, chambers, or interface panels.
