Author's note

Morris Initials, based on characters designed by William Morris, is a free Gothic initials font with the look of an illuminated letter pulled from an Arts and Crafts page. The letters are built as bold monograms inside rounded frames, with curling leaf forms and corner ornaments that make the alphabet feel carved, enclosed, and richly medieval rather than simply decorative.

This free font belongs in book covers, ex libris marks, wedding stationery, posters, and title cards where a single letter or short line can carry some ceremony. It also works for drop caps and monograms, since the enclosed shapes and floral detailing give even one character enough presence to anchor a layout.
