MotownMotel by Christoph Windmueller of FontStruct is a free calligraphic display font with the force of hand-painted show lettering. Broad, slanted strokes create a dense silhouette, broken by sharp entry points and quick tapering exits. The letters lean forward and fit together tightly, giving the design a fast, insistent cadence.
Music labels and nightlife venues are its clearest territory. Its sweeping forms suit album covers, concert posters, and apparel graphics, especially for vintage soul, garage rock, or retro club themes.
